Why

Why you ask am I posting this picture??

Well, this is what Adam came home to yesterday. My arms gave out, my neck hurt and I was just tired. I had worn her to sleep in the sling and eased her into the swing still wrapped up in the sling. She immediately woke up. So, I tried a new trick. I ran the vacuum. Immediate success. At first, I was vacuuming but when I was done, I just didn't want to turn it off. She was sleeping so peacefully. Dinner had to be made and a toddler entertained. So, for an hour that vacuum stayed on. And, a sweet baby stayed asleep.

you know

You know you have lost it and truly delved into the world of photography when you are willing to watch your child start to cry in hopes of capturing that big pouty lip.

Even when

Even when your brother pulls your hair, tattletales on you, makes funny faces at you, spits gum in your hair, won't let you play with him or doesn't want to share his toys with you.
He really does love you very much!
**Not that the above mentioned will EVER happen, but just in case!

this ones for you

Auntie M! I love you!

Thank you

Dear Teagen,

This is to thank you.
Thank you for teaching me that every baby is different.
Thank you for pushing my patience to new boundaries.
Thank you for reminding me that I really don't need 8 hours of sleep a night but that I am fully capable of functioning off of 3. (albeit not that friendly but functioning nonetheless)
Thank you for showing me what it's like to have a happy baby.
Thank you for building back up my arm strength after nine months of pregnancy.
Thank you for teaching me that I am capable of sleeping on my back.(with a baby laying on my chest)
Thank you for reminding me that babies grow up all too fast and to enjoy every second we spend together.
Thank you for showing me that a baby smile is a mend all.

Thank you for being you.
I love every minute of it.

All things 6 weeks old

Teagen's 6 week life check...

1. Sling- still a mama's girl. She is truly content all cocooned up and resting snugly up to her mommy's chest.

(really she is usually content but for some reason, not so much in this shot)
2. swing- when I'm not available, she will sometimes settle for the swing. (sometimes being the key word)
3. Sleep- One word...RLS(restless leg syndrome). Is she too young to be diagnosed??? Her little legs move a mile a minute and poor thing has the hardest time staying asleep. She can go 6 hours between feeds without a problem but just can't stay asleep that long! Plus, we have a little night colic action which really doesn't help the situation.
I love it when their little personalities start to shine. She has pouty lip syndrome, much like her brother. She definitely knows what she wants when she wants it. As my mom says, "at some point in their life, you want a strong willed individual." I couldn't agree more.
She doesn't really like the pacifier but will occasionally accept it. I am secretly hoping that she will be a thumb sucker like her brother because, really, it is way more convenient!
She is a happy and content baby. Eli was a mad lil one and I am so gracious to have a baby that, for the most part,(during waking hours) is one happy little girl.
She has some acne or something on her face. I am still not convinced that it isn't some sort of allergic reaction to something but either way, she is still so cute.
We are loving every moment with this little dainty thing!

Days

So these are the days that you long to remember and long to forget. The days of sleepless nights and busy everything else. The days of staring at your child and talking back to their every sigh. The days of wondering if you are doing things right. The days of wishing life didn't go by so fast. The days of simple pleasures in the small things. These are the good 'ole days.
